Month: March 2010

  • It's Official...I'm Crazy...

Oh man, I have no idea what I just did but I'm doing it...I signed up for the Brooklyn Half Marathon on May 22!!

My back and foot are finally completely healed. I'm so thankful to be able to walk normally and start working out again. I ended up gaining almost 10 pounds back these past two months since I couldn't exercise.  So maybe I'm punishing myself by signing up to do this half.

Actually, a few friends asked me to do it with them. I was totally on the fence about it but then I went to cheer on some friends running the Manhattan Half this past Sunday.

  • Central Park Snowball Extravaganza!

Happy March! So my February blog-a-thon didn't go according to plan but hopefully more frequent updates will come this month.

    First week of February

    Two weekends ago

We've gotten a lot of snow this winter in NYC, more snow than the past winters we've been living up here. Two weekends ago a huge snowstorm blew through town and made NYC into winter wonderland for reals. We saw people walking around with snowshoes and skiing and sledding in Central Park.

That same weekend we were actually supposed to go on a church retreat but the bad weather canceled the retreat. It's so rare to have a totally free weekend so we decided to take advantage of it and gather some friends to hang out in Central Park.

I have this tendency to call events I get really excited about "extravaganzas" (Camping Extravaganza, Thanksgiving Extravaganza), and this was no different. I named our get together "Central Park Snowball Extravaganza!" I emailed blasted our friends in NYC and asked them to meet us the next day in Central Park.

We bundled up for a day in the snow -snowboarding gear, complete with waterproof gloves. Oppa even bought two circular snow sleds for the event.  Along with sledding, we played snow dodgeball and built a HUGE snowman! My first snowman!

Here are some pictures from our "Central Park Snowball Extravaganza!" Continue reading
