Dan and Christine's Wedding
After our lovely Labor Day weekend we had a super busy weekend of church activities and a wedding. The creative, adventure-loving and super cute couple that is Dan and Christine got married! These two were among the first people we befriended in NJ. I met Christine in small group and Suseok oppa got to know Dan through a web-related project. It was so fun to see these two join their lives together and meet their awesome family and friends.
Pictures from the wedding day:
We hung out with Julia and Kayla before the wedding. Suseok oppa played with Kayla while her momma got ready for the wedding. Doesn't it look like Kayla is waving hello in the first pic.
Christine made all the flowers for the wedding out of tissue paper (bouquets, corsages, bouts, centerpieces- everything)! It was amazing and looked so real! Here is one of the many centerpieces she painstakingly created.
We had a ton of fun at their wedding. Their wedding also further confirmed how small the world is. Dan's best man Ulysses was an acquaintence from college. I actually met Uly in Gainesville and hung out with him and then several months later when Kyumee, Grace, Sunhi, Laurie and I vacationed in NYC for winter break we met up with him again. I never heard from him again but there he was at the wedding. Turns out he's Dan's best friend from college.
Several awesome highlights of the wedding:
-Best man's speech: Uly gave the awesomest best man's speech I've ever heard! It was the perfect combination of humor, old stories, touching moments and length. Man, give it to a pastor to deliver the best speech ever!
- Father of the Bride's speech: Christine's dad gave a touching and funny tribute of Christine. It was so incredibly sweet and heartfelt. I teared up a couple of times during his speech. You could really tell how proud he was of Christine and how happy he was she found Dan. Loved it!
-The people at our table: we were seated with a few people we knew and two other couples we didn't know. We totally hit it off with the two couples we didn't know. It was crazy how much we talked and laughed. When the night was over it felt like we were old friends. Who knew you could hit it off with random strangers like that?
That's it for us as far as weddings go for 2008 but hopefully in 2009 we'll be attending several, much anticipated weddings!
Dan and Christine- we hope you love being married and have many, many, blessed years together!
